Here are ways to charge a car battery in a few simple steps.

Find the battery in your vehicle and identify the positive and negative terminals. The positive terminal has a "+" marking, and the negative terminal gets marked with a "-". You may have to remove plastic covers away to access the right parts.

Once you find the terminals, attach the red clamp to the positive battery terminal and connect the black clamp to the negative. For increased safety, keep the charger as far away as possible from the battery.

Once the task is complete, your charger may automatically switch off or display an alert when the battery gets charged. Make sure power is not flowing to the charger before touching the clamps. Remove the cables only after the charger gets turned off.

When you unhook, start with the black (negative) clamp first.
